Why I do What I do
Music, for me, is a way of connecting—across cultures, generations, and inner worlds. Through the guzheng, I invite listeners into a shared sonic space where reflection and imagination can unfold, and where traditions continue to live and thrive. My work is guided by a belief in authenticity, curiosity, and care: each note carries the stories that have shaped me, while opening space for new dialogue through intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration. Teaching is a natural extension of this practice, nurturing the next generation and helping them reconnect with their roots while discovering their own voices. I am equally committed to music and wellbeing, creating experiences that offer comfort, presence, and a sense of wholeness. As part of the community I call home, I see this work as a responsibility as much as a privilege—to use music as a bridge that brings people closer, and to contribute, in whatever small way, to a more connected and compassionate world.
